  1. Perhaps I missed it on the list, but The Old Chapel at Saltney Ferry is definitely a bike-friendly cafe and they do a really good coffee, decent selection of cakes and I can recommend their scones.

    • Thanks, Mark. haven’t yet visited but I know they make provision for and encourage cyclists. It should certainly be added to the revamped list, which is overdue for a clean-up and refresh.

  2. The Hideaway Cafe at Aptitude Health & Fitness, Farndon, CH3 6QP.

Beautiful cafe with outside tables and views of the Welsh hills situated just outside Farndon. Hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes and snacks, energy gels and much more.

Plenty of bike stands and toilets.

    Open Monday to Friday 07:30-15:00
    Saturday – Sunday 08:00 – 13:00

    • Visited today (22022022) and can vouch for the quality of the coffee and the warmth of welcome. Copies of “Cycling Matters!” handed over, so you’ll even have something to read whilst you are there.

  3. Kelsall Cycles – Woodview Workshop, Willington Lane, Kelsall CW6 0ND.

Bike repairs and sales and decent coffee/cakes. Some inside tables – those outside have a view of open countryside. Established about 18 months ago and may be moving down the road later in the year. Worth a visit, a coffee and a chat.

    • Now relocated to Yeld Ln, Kelsall, Tarporley CW6 0TE to a bigger and better venue. Still offering good coffee and cakes and a warm welcome. Choose your route carefully if you want to avoid The Yeld!

  5. I have just joined the CTC. One of the best cafes for cyclist in Chester is Brown Sugar in Handbridge just over the old Dee bridge. Great coffee outstanding bacon butties, clean and friendly. They have e-mailed the CTC for window stickers without even getting a reply, can you help? They allow you to park your bike in there yard which is secure.
