Those who cycle over Hoole Road Bridge regularly will be aware of just how dangerous it can be. It is one of the priorities on the list of improvements sought by the Chester Cycling Campaign. The bridge is a potential death trap for both cyclists and pedestrians. When wheelchair users or those with children in buggies encounter others going in the opposite direction on the pavement, this results in someone needing to venture into the roadway to pass.
Cyclists caught between the pavement and heavy goods vehicles have a particularly unpleasant crossing, and this puts many Hoole residents off from cycling into town.
A petition has been started to try and improve the situation. It would be helpful if all website visitors could sign this petition in order to try to put pressure on the council to take steps to improve the situation. Click the link below to sign the petition:
